Kobayashi has bought his girlfriend a birthday present and managed to finish work at the company early enough on the big day – but just as he is about to leave for her, he gets an unexpected call from his beloved, in which she reveals to him that she is already seeing someone else and therefore wants to break up. His colleague Tsuzinaka, who has been in love with him for a long time and looks up to him, overhears the conversation and now sees her big chance.
