Kanpeki Ojou-sama no Watakushi ga Dogeza de Mazo Ochisur- that’s way too long. This is an anime about a masochistic princess taking the reigns in a S&M relationship. How is that possible? Simply put, Maso-Himedere-sama is more of a masochist than rando-MC is a sadist. It’s a bit of a normal twist, but that twist isn’t really something seen too often in S&M hentai. Usually it’s NTR and Ugly Bastard. This is a nice change of pace for the genre. Getting the kink without the malicious intent. While vanilla hentai might have this as a one-off scene, this entire anime is centered around this trope.

While the artwork is good and the animation is not stiff, a critical flaw to this anime is its pacing. The poses themselves are interesting, but there are too many camera angle swaps of the same exact position. This means that while there is absolutely nothing wrong animation and artwork wise, the sex itself is static. There is very little sexual dynamic in the source material, which is a damn shame since it looks great otherwise.

The sound is out-of-place and muted and the story is bearable at best, leaving most of the weight of entertainment to the premise, art quality, and characters. Nothing strange there, that’s just what to expect from hentai. The characters have a static personality with no real changes. Essentially the kink of Maso-Himedere-sama is what built the foundation of this hentai. So that much is at least interesting about the characters since she is the driving force of the kinky situations. However, what surprised me the most was how well rounded rando-MC is.

Rando-MC kind of just goes along with Maso-Himedere-sama’s antics, but he takes it as an opportunity to instill some moral justice in her–in more ways than one. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) When Maso-Himedere-sama goes a bit too far in the deep end, rando-MC punishes her to instill some reason into that dirty mind of hers. Mad respect for the guy.

Overall, I’d say it was hard to enjoy this due to its slow pacing. This hentai doesn’t do anything groundbreaking, but the way they approached S&M was interesting. At least I know why The Perfect Princess descended into Masochism.
